You always have the option of having no opinion.

Happy Monday! Happy day of celebration of MLK, and all the amazing things he stood for. Today’s link is for parents, and, like all that MLK stood for, the complicated but important topics we need to talk about.

Celebrating heroism today, yesterday, and hopefully in the future. Thank you, MLK, for giving us such a great example to follow. https://www.healthyexpatparent.com/post/heroism-today

New recipe: Baked oatmeal, but fancied up with pecans and bananas.  Whole grain goodness but wrapped up in a very tasty way that will make everyone happy.

Communicating with your kiddos -- how do you say the important things... in a way that they will actually hear us?

Spiritual Health

To be hopeful: “To be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty, but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness.

What we choose to emphasize in this complex history will determine our lives. If we see only the worst, it destroys our capacity to do something. If we remember those times and places—and there are so many—where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction.

And if we do act, in however small a way, we don’t have to wait for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory.”~ Howard Zinn

"A great relationship is not only finding the person you have fun with, but also finding the person you want to be bored with. The beauty of long-term relationships is often hidden in boring, ordinary moments."
